Best New Lawn Option? Sir Walter Turf Suppliers Gold Coast-Wide
Considering Sir Walter turf? Gold Coast suppliers of quality instant lawn, like our team at Jimboomba Turf Group, can recommend it. This premium variety is uniquely suited to the coastal lifestyle, making it ideal for Gold Coast residences. Planted across thousands of homes around Australia, from the coastal courtyards to outback backyards, it’s one of the nation’s most popular lawn varieties. It’s bred tough for the variable Australian climate, and is an ideal choice for Gold Coast families seeking a tough, low-fuss and comfortable turfed surface:
-
High Salt Tolerance: Coastal areas are prone to salt spray, which can dehydrate and damage some grasses. Sir Walter, however, is known for its ability to withstand high levels of salinity, making it a reliable choice for seaside locales.
-
Low Water Needs: Sir Walter's drought-tolerant nature helps it survive dry spells with minimal watering. This happens to come in handy, especially during the Gold Coast’s dry and sunny autumn/winter period.
-
Thrives in Sandy Soil: Sandy soils, often found in coastal areas, are typically fast-draining and don’t hold moisture well. This can make it difficult for some grasses to establish and thrive. However, Sir Walter’s robust root system holds together well and can absorb water efficiently, making it an effective coastal lawn type.
-
Low Light Performance: Sir Walter’s broad leaves can effectively capture more light than fine-blade varieties, enabling it to thrive in as little as 3 hours of direct sunlight per day.
