Lawn Care in the Spring

Spring is a brand new season of growth and this is true for lawns as well. Now is when you really want to focus on fertilising and feeding the lawn. This means new growth gets plenty of nutrition and that the roots are well established. This will be important as it gets hotter during the summertime.

Sponginess

Sometimes you can end up with patches of a spongy lawn. When this happens it is because the thatch has built up. The way to deal with this is to cut that area way back. You want to go clear down to the runners. This may mean mowing more than once. Once you have down that apply a good Sir Walter fertiliser and then give it a good soak to let all that soak into the soil. You can top dress at this time if needed.
